Palsgaard invented the food emulsifier 100 years ago and is still leading in the development of emulsifiers and stabilizers.
As part of strengthening Palsgaard’s sales organisation, we are searching for a Senior Sales Manager to play a central role in strengthening and expanding our network with customers and distributors primarily in the geographical area covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
You will play a central role taking care of existing key customers in one of Palsgaard’s largest markets and develop new customers in strategic Palsgaard application such as confectionary, ice cream, or bakery.
We emphasize a professional dialogue with our customers, which requires technical expertise and a solid knowledge of our product range and application.
Palsgaard is currently investing massively (+200MEuro) in new factories and developing a strong ESG strategy; you will be a key element in this journey.
You will be working from your home office and must expect approximately 70 days of travelling a year to increase sales and support new and existing customers with technical know-how.
You will report directly to the Director Sales & Applications ENA, Lionel Tempka.
Your primary tasks:
- Independently drive sales-oriented processing of customers in selected markets, including coordination to regional customers in cooperation with subsidiaries and local collaborators.
- Build and provide service to the network of distributors.
- Integrate application as a significant part of market deals.
- Uncover customer potentials and relevant market knowledge to be anchored across Palsgaard.
- Suggest new product or application development based on customer insight.
- Cooperate and communicate with all stakeholders involved in the sales process.
- Prepare budgets, plans of activity, quarterly reports of sales development as well as follow-up on activities.
Candidate profile:
The right candidate for the job has a technical education within the food industry/chemistry, preferably combined with a commercial education. Furthermore, you have min. 3-5 years of experience in a technical sales role or a similar role within the food industry (B2B) as well as a proven track record of sales excellence.
You are used to travel and therefore capable of working independently with a strong desire to succeed and a proactive and service orientated approach. We expect you to have good communication skills at a high technical level with the ability to work across functions in an international organisation. Good skills in verbal and written English in a professional and technical context is expected.
