Job Summary
The Account Manager will play a pivotal role in driving long-term, profitable growth through strategic account management, contract negotiations, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is business-minded, with a strong curiosity to explore customer needs and identify opportunities that enhance both sales and margins. This individual will be responsible for developing partnerships, the sales process, and optimizing the company's product portfolio, innovation, customer service, and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Build and maintain long-term partnerships with accounts to drive revenue growth, increase margins, and deliver value for the broader business.
- Sales Leadership: Execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Contract Negotiations: Facilitate contract negotiations with accounts, ensuring profitable growth and expanding ingredient solutions.
- Customer-Centric Strategy: Understand customer needs, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to build tailored account plans for short- and long-term growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including product development, marketing, supply chain, and customer service, to align sales strategies with operational capabilities.
- Solution-Oriented Selling: Identify customer pain points and present differentiated solutions that encourage experimentation with the entire product portfolio.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Align internal stakeholders with customer objectives, ensuring a shared vision for success.
- Operational Excellence: Partner with support teams (logistics, customer service, etc.) to ensure seamless contract execution, KPI management, and deliver targeted results.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and customer demands to proactively propose innovative solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of account management, preferably in food and beverage ingredients and solutions. Experience with accounts in bakery, confectionery, dairy/ice cream, CPG, and private label segments is highly preferred.
- Working Knowledge: Emulsifiers and their uses in food production is a plus.
- Sales & Negotiation: Proven track record of driving sales, managing high-value accounts, and leading successful contract negotiations.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute data-driven strategic account plans that drive profitable growth.
- Communication & Influence: Strong presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills to align internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Proactive and resourceful in addressing challenges, adjusting to dynamic market conditions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Software Proficiency: Proven skills with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and PowerBI.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel up to 30-40% of the time.
